Harman Kardon, Inc. recently announced the introduction of its 7.1-channel AVR 354 and AVR 254 and its 5.1-channel AVR 154 audio/video receivers. This company is also going to introduce its HK 3490 and HK 3390 stereo receivers soon.
Offering expanded features, connectivity and flexibility, the new 7.1-channel A/V receivers provide you HDMI 1.3a capability, Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, a graphical on-screen menu system and an improved iPod interface using the Bridge II docking station.
The AVR 354 and AVR 254 feature a high-definition full-color on-screen menu system that aims to guide the user in setting up their home entertainment system. Deep Color compatibility, 1080p video upscaling and EzSet/EQ automated system calibration are some other unique features of these system manufactured by Harman Kardon.

Monsoon Multimedia, recently announced that it will be providing a beta of its new digital video service to allow people to watch their home TV on some Nokia phones. Its new HAVA Mobile Player for S60 Symbian phones that was shown by Nokia at CTIA, allows users to watch their live TV, pause. Skip and rewind schedule their DVD recordings from a phone.
This SlingBox Killer, as it is commonly known as, is at present compatible with Symbian, Palm and Windows Mobile phones with BlackBerry support will be available soon. The official release of this product is expected during the third quarter of 2008.
Monsoon’s SlingBox Killer that specializes in streaming video content from your entertainment system to a PC or smartphone via the Internet lets you enjoy the same features as provided by the SlingBox but in a lower cost. Monsoon’s HAVA box will be available at $ 100 after a $ 30 rebate. However, its mobile software will cost an additional cost of $ 30.

Even jumping over the keyboard will really be a brilliant idea as I have seen many putting on extra fat by sitting in front of their computers for the whole day. So, now here it is a giant fabric keyboard on which you can press keys by walking over.. Thanks to Maurin Donneaud who worked on this revolutionary idea!
This giant fabric keyboard has buttons in it like those of WiFi detecting backpack strap, but on a larger scale. An Arduino is used to translate each step into a button press. So friends, you will no more have to go to gym or will have to manage extra time for doing joggings and aerobics. Just jump over the keys of the keyboard, your body will be fit and so will you also finish your respective tasks in your PC! It is just a concept. Do you want it to be a reality?

Fujitsu Asia has extended its product portfolio with the launch of wide-aspect ratio, 4-wire resistive touch panels. These touch panels offer 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios. Complying with the RoHS standards the wide aspect ratio touch panels are available in various diagonal-inch sizes including 6.5, 7.0, 8.0, 8.9, 9.0, 10.2, 12.1, 13.3, and 15.3.
According to Bruce DeVisser, Fujitsu Components’ touch panel product marketing manager, demand for wide-aspect ratio, touch-enabled displays is increasing in many consumer, industrial, and medical applications due to the increasing high-resolution graphics and video content, which has a landscape orientation in a 16:9 aspect ratio. In addition, using a touch panel instead of a keyboard allows more product area to be devoted to a wider/larger display, notes DeVisser.
These are available at a price ranging from $21.43 for a 6.5-inch to $73.82 for a 12.1-inch.

Now people in US will be able to view digitally improved pictures and programs in their TV without having to attach it with a set top box. This has become possible as Sony Corp has entered into an agreement with the top cable companies of U.S., thus making way for production of televisions which will directly receive digital signals and display better quality pictures.
A Reuters report says, “Sony Corp has signed an agreement with the top U.S. cable companies that leads the way for televisions that can receive digital signals without need for a television set-top box.”
Till now, the set top box had to be attached in order to convert analogue signals to digital ones. The production of the set top box free televisions will involve new and advanced technologies as well as better quality pictures. As Sony has paved the way, eventually it will also allow more other companies to come in.
