GEAR4 Launches ProControl AV iPod Dock

What’s the point of loading all of those videos on your iPod if all you can watch it on is that little screen, right? Well, GEAR4 has recently launched a product that will make it much less painful to get those videos off the little screen and onto the big screen.

Enter the ProControl AV dock, a device that is basically a dock that allows you to connect you iPod to your TV to watch movies, listen to music, and even play YouTube videos utilizing the line out port, RCA cable, scart adapter and included remote.

Sounds pretty neat, right? In addition to that, it also includes a mini USB port and cable for syncing your iPod so it doubles as a conventional iPod dock. This thing is set to launch in the UK on November 8th for £49.99.

BT-87-TP: Keyboard with bluetooth

Nowadays more keyboards are wireless, right? That is probably one of the main reasons that made iKey release a new bluetooth keyboard codenamed BT-87-TP. A strange name for a keyboard that resembles a car’s license plate, but that is another story.

The second reason for the existence of this keyboard, is the uncommon inclusion of a touchpad. Most keyboards don’t come with a touchpad, but that is when it becomes special because there is certainly a group of people that will enjoy this extra feature.

The iKey bluetooth keyboard needs 2AA batteries to work, and is resistant to water, ice, dust, dirt, and corrosives. Silicone rubber and ABS polycarbonate case were the material used in the creation of the keyboard.

It is an ideal fit for mobile, material handling, food and beverage processing, medical, and other environments where rugged flexibility is a necessity.

Psystar Introduces Mac OS X Box with Blu-ray

It seems that another company has stepped in, yet again, to fill the shoes that Apple left empty… the shoes of Blu-ray that is.

This time, Apple’s arch-nemesis/copycat/all-around-bad-guy Psystar takes the center stage. Even though they have been under the gun from Apple, they are going ahead and releasing a Blu-ray equipped Open box complete with, you guessed it, OS X. Not only that, but they have thrown a Nvidia 9800GT in there, making it the Mac everyone has dreamed of.

Any bets on how long Psystar will be able to sell these things for?

Samsung Unveils 0.05mm ‘Flapping’ OLED Panel

Samsung, a world-renowned electronic maker, has recently introduced its new 0.05mm Flapping OLED Panel. This 0.05 thick and 4-inch OLED Panel can be easily hanged in air and be seen fluttering in the cool breeze of a fan.

“It is technically possible to make the panel thinner,” a Samsung staffer said. “However, it is difficult to further reduce the thicknesses of the flexible substrates and circuit components around it.” That’s why the company set the size at 0.05mm.

The new Flapping OLED Pnale from Samsung is made up of organic EL materials. It delivers a high contrast ratio of 100,000:1 and a pixel resolution of 480 x 272. Not only this, it produces a high brightness of 200 cd/m2 with an amazing color reproduction range of 100% of the NTSC standard.

LG W2248F LCD Monitor in UK

One of the many LG monitors - W2284F - that received a iF Award and was recently launched in Japan, has now been presented in the UK scene.

The 22-inch LCD monitor got the iF Product Design Awarn in 2008, and has all the features a true LCD monitor should have, like a 30,000 Digital Fine Contrast Ratio while watching movies. This feature alone makes it better than 80% of the monitors of the market, and it doesn’t stop there.

Other features on the LG W2248F include a response time of 2ms, a brightness level of 300 nits, and a resolution of 1680×1050. It boasts some LG technology, more specifically a picture enhancing chipset named F-Engine.

On the design side, the W2284F has a glossy black finish and a “soft” blue power button inspired, apparently, by a drop of morning dew.
