ANADIGICS, Inc., has announced that its ARA2017 programmable gain amplifier that is optimized for DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem applications will now get featured in Sigma Design’s new multi-channel, IP-Cable set-top box reference design and multi-standard. Sporting the new design from Sigma, this product has been developed for deployment in existing cable TV systems.
"The ARA2017 is integral to the performance of DOCSIS 3.0 hybrid set-top boxes and cable modem products," reports Ron Michels, senior vice president and general manager of ANADIGICS’ Broadband Business, "and we are very proud that it plays a pivotal role in Sigma’s innovative reference design. Infrastructure upgrades in the cable industry are facilitating faster up and downstream communications and Sigma has leveraged the performance of our new amplifier to offer a first class triple play experience in one package."
The new ANADIGICS’ DOCSIS IP-Cable Set-Top Box reference design operates in the 5-85MHz-frequency range. Not only this, it supports DOCSIS 3.0-specified signal levels of +64dBmV while limiting the noise levels. It comes integrated with a multi-stage precision step attenuator that provides up to 58 dB of attenuation in 2 dB increments.
