Apple TV Not Going Anywhere

Apple TV has long been said to be simply a hobby by iconic figures like Steve Jobs himself. However, rumors have been heating up as of late that say Apple is looking to take things a step further and release an actual television complete with things such as Siri and the software currently featured on the set-top box (albeit considerably updated). Due to this alone, it’s hard to think that the Apple TV project will be getting shuttered at any point in the foreseeable future.

If for some reason you still think that Apple may be considering doing away with the project, CEO Tim Cook has stepped forward to give us a bit of insight. In a recent quarterly earnings call, when touching on the Apple TV Tim Cook went on record as saying things that “[it's] still [classified] as a hobby but we continue to add things to it” and that the company will “continue to pull strings and see where [they] can take it]. This comes hot on the heels of the announcement that the tech giant recently saw 1.4 million sales of the Apple TV this past quarter alone.

So does this mean that we will be seeing an actual Apple TV at some point in the future? Potentially, but at this point its anyone’s guess. However, for those who aren’t aware, in the official Steve Jobs biography, the late visionary did touch on the fact that he had big plans for Apple TV that had the potential to change the industry.
