AU Curve AU Optronics Corp. recently exhibited the World’s first Curved Display technology and a range of other mobile device technologies during SID 2008. Wide range of technologies include Ultra Thin 0.63mm, In-cell Multi-Touch Technology, Grease Free & Touch Mura Free Technology, Advanced Capacitor Coupling Technology, APE mobile with Ambient Light Sensor, sRGB Gamut Mapping Technology and Advanced Ultra High Aperture Ratio Technology.

"In recent years the small- and medium-sized display market has become increasingly competitive, fostering the depth and width of its technology. In addition, the 3 major trends — human interface, system integration and thin- and-light Eco products, are still dominating the market," said Dr. CT Liu, AUO Vice President & GM of Consumer Product Display Operations.

The Curved display technology is a special thinning technology on a device with 100mm radius. Preserving regularity in brightness and contrast, the technology can be applied to curved display applications easily. AUO also showcased mobile device technologies with 1.9” and 0.63mm thick TFT-LCD delivering sunlight readable mobile lifestyle.

4.3” and 8” TFT LCD displays a perfect example of In-cell Multi-touch technology without an extra glass. The anti glare glass ensures readability in sunlight and image color saturation. Grease Free and Touch Mura Free technology coats Anti-Fouling layer and gets a fingerprint free surface along with conveniently removing grease easily from surface. All these cutting edge technologies give an insight into future.
