Best Buy To Add Vinyl to Music Section

Best Buy announced recently that they would be adding vinyl to their music sections. Although a lot of hoopla has been made of a revitalization of the LP, overall sales volume for vinyl as a format is slightly more than 1,300,000 units a year according to 2007 RIAA sales reports. The most digital generation ever, Generation Y loves vinyl. It’s large format. The fact it is kitsch.

Baby Boomers are passionate about vinyl too, as they were the generation that helped to build the success of the modern music industry by buying LPs and then later Compact Discs. There are a great deal of new record players with analog to digital converters and USB outputs so you can rip your LPs to audio files on your computer.
