Buffalo USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Ready to Ship
Buffalo is one of the first manufacturers to make a USB 3.0 external hard drive. Too bad we won’t be able to use them to the fullest anytime soon. Intel will only support USB 3.0 starting with 2011 but the Buffalo USB 3.0 drive is going to be available earlier than that. The DriveStation HD-HXU3 will be available in three versions, 1TB, 1.5TB or 2TB for $200, $250 and $400 respectively. The drive will offer you transfer speeds of up to 625MB/s but do we won’t be enjoying them anytime soon. But we could certainly use all that extra storage space while we wait for Intel to launch those chipsets with USB 3.0 support.
