Hitachi has proudly unveiled its newest 50-inch 1.5 ultra-thin Plasma Display at CEDIA 2008. Known as one of the world’s thinnest display, it supports only one-third the depth of other plasma displays already available in the market. The latest device is expected to be offered in a 50-inch screen size.
"The industry theme of ‘Thin is in’ continues apace and Hitachi was one of the first to propel this trend," said Daniel Lee, vice president of marketing for Hitachi Home Electronics (America), Inc. "Hitachi’s goal is to offer consumers more choice and greater flexibility. That means LCD or plasma.”

Hitachi 50-inch 1.5 UltraThin PDP at CEDIA 2008
Hitachi has just announced its new D62 ultra LCDs displays at CEDIA Expo 2008. The latest displays are available in four screen sizes including 32-inch, 37-inch, 42-inch and 47-inch. The high-quality displays provide thin, peerless design visual, awesome picture quality and ultimate sound quality.
"CEDIA is very special this year because it’s the first time we’ll have all four screen sizes of our UltraThin 1.5 line on display together in one setting," said Daniel Lee, vice president of marketing for Hitachi Home Electronics (America). "From the moment we launched our UltraThin 1.5 line, we wanted to offer consumers the combined benefits of choice, flexibility, elegance, aesthetics and performance."
Sharp Electronics recently unveiled its 65 inch LC-65XS1U-S and 52-inch LC-52XS1U-S HDTVs during CEDIA, 2008. Both the TVs utilize 10-bit ASV LCD to deliver crisp pictures and sound quality which ultimately enhances color accuracy for dark scenes.
“Since the introduction of the first AQUOS LCD TV in 2001, Sharp has continuously achieved the highest levels of image quality and screen size,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp.

The company is planning to launch this waterproof XDV-W600 waterproof portable TV on October 30th at an expected price of 40,000. But it will hit Japanese shelves. Sony has recently introduced its latest BRAVIA X1 series LCD HDTV, which includes three pioneering and high-end models- KDL-52X1, KDL-46X1 and KDL-40X1.
