LG Electronics is exhibiting 11 high-definition TVs based on LodgeNet technology during 2008 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference. The new range of models include two 42” class plasmas, five 32”, two 37” and two 42” class LCDs.

“Our new programs with LodgeNet Interactive offer hotels cost-effective technology integration that facilitates rapid deployment of high-definition content on LG’s stunning flat panels,” said Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Commercial Products, LG Electronics USA, Inc.

Offering high-definition video-on-demand services and free-to-guest HDTV programming to the guests, the TVs are based on Pro:Idiom digital rights management system. Without the need of any additional software or hardware, the hoteliers can access uninterrupted digital content. While Plasma 42PG60C-LN1 and 42PG65C-LN1 offer an elegant look, the 42PG60C-LN1 boasts a contrast ratio of 30,000:1.

Channel mapping is done from head end equipment using these HD TVs, thus saving time and money. All the TVs based on MPEG-4 H.264 decoding technology, Dynamic Power Saving will be available in third quarter of 2008.

Toshiba REGZA RH500 and CV500 HDTVs

toshiba regza rh500 cv500 Toshiba has announced the launch of three HDTVs in REGZA RH500 and CV500 series in the Japan market. While the 42 inch and 37 inch models are based on full HD resolution, the 32 inch model is HD Ready.

The three models in the latest line-up include Toshiba REGZA 42RH500, 37RH500 and 32RH500. All these models feature PVR with a 300GB HDD. Toshiba’s RH500 line will be available from June.

The models of CV500 Series namely, REGZA 42CV500, 37CV500 and 32CV500 come without integrated PVR functionality. The CV500 HDTVs will reach the markets in April.
