Coby makes a lot of economical small electronics and distributes them to discount stores and also to corporations for use as prizes and employee rewards and perks. Even though the brand may not be as sexy or recognizable as Sony or LG, for someone who is just dipping their toe in the HT water a Coby sound system is not a bad start, and it doesn’t cost much. The Coby CSP94 300-Watt 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker system comes in basic black and will set you back less than $80.00.
Especially effective in smaller rooms or rooms that double as a living room, the Coby system comes with 5 full range satellite speakers, a dedicated sub-woofer with tuned port for a deep base response, and RCA and 3.5 mm stereo connectors. The speakers are wall mountable or you can set them on a desktop if you are using them for gaming and/or a home office application. All in all, it’s a good entry level system.
