Dish Network Starts Offering Online Content Streaming

Dish Network isn’t resting on its laurels as part of the pay TV circuit–sure, they’re one of the best in television but even they likely know the competition they face with things like Netflix.

That’s why an announcement like this is so exciting–Dish Network is looking to stream content online, thus allowing Dish Network customers to take their programs where ever they go.

It’s not all free content, though–some of it will require a “onetime rental fee” to get access to the paid content, and some movies will be subscription only.

I would be more upset by this, but I can’t help but be happy about it.  A couple extra fees to watch most anything anywhere? Sounds like a pretty good deal to me, especially if it’s not recurring monthly fees but rather just a one-time thing, which is exactly what this sounds like.

I haven’t tried it out yet, but if it works as advertised, it could be a very welcome feature.
