Dolby To Launch Dolby Surround 7.1 for Toy Story 3

Dolby Laboratories has announced that they are working in hand with Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar to unveil a new audio format, the Dolby Surround 7.1. This new audio format will be used in theaters this coming June for Toy Story 3.

The new Dolby Surround 7.1 features four surround zones to better orchestrate audio channels in a movie theater environment. The new format is composed of 8 channels of audio and is currently being shown at the ShoWest 2010.
