First Theater in UK To Get 3D Comes OnlineBy Steve Anderson - 10/14/2009 12:57:08 PM |
All right, British readers, listen up–got some exciting news here for you that’ll make you stand up and cheer, or whatever the British equivalent of that is. Maybe quiet applause, I don’t know offhand, but anyway–the White River Cinema in St. Austell, Cornwall has just purchased several of the XPAND Digital 3D projectors as part of being the first new movie complex in Cornwall in over seventy years.
Seventy YEARS? Without a new movie theater? That’s…that’s almost unfathomable. I live out in the back of beyond and we had a new theater built not fifteen years ago. I can’t imagine Cornwall being smaller than my little burg.
But the White River Cinema is not only the first new theater development in Cornwall, it’s also the first theater in all of Great Britain to get the 3D projectors up and running. This makes it an extremely historic theater, whether or not it knows about it yet. So cheers to the White River Cinema, and may it see many more titles.
Oh, and by the way–the first show in 3D? Up.
