Freecom Launches the XS 3.0; the First USB 3.0 External Hard Drive
Get ready folks to welcome a lot of new USB 3.0 gadgets in your life. The new standard is available and we should expect lots of manufacturers to start including it in their future gadgets. Today we have the first USB 3.0 external hard drive and it’s coming from Freecom. The XS 3.0 will be available at some point in November in three sizes: 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB. The new HDD will bring transfer speeds of 130MB/s to your home theater and will boast AES 256 bit encryption and USB 2.0 compatibility. And in case you’re expecting to pay a lot of dollars for it then don’t. The XS 3.0 will be quite affordable as pricing starts at just $175.
