In an effort to broaden their global market penetration strategy, Hitachi of Japan has reportedly started to enter the Turkish market. Japan’s Hitachi company put its refrigerators to the Turkish market at the beginning of this week and possibly inserting their LCD TV line next.

“The company has entered Turkish market with Cool Action refrigerators,” sales manager Tulay Asmaz told a press conference in the Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul.

Asmaz said that the company aimed to open about 50 branches, particularly in Istanbul, Ankara (capital), Izmir (western) and Bursa (northwestern), and sell its products in chain stores like Media Markt, Metro and Carrefour.

Asmaz said that the company might put LCD TVs to market as a second product.

The manager said that Hitachi would continue investing in Turkey despite the global economic crisis, and aimed at holding 10 percent of the market within four years.
