The longstanding obstacle for digital content creators has now found a way out. HP and DreamWorks Animation SKG have together previewed a display technology that is both affordable and consistent in providing color accuracy between devices. This uniqye display brought out by both these companies will generate the industry’s first combination of a true 30-bit color that will enable a wide range of 1 billion colors and that too in an LED backlit LCD.

“For decades, storytellers have struggled to manage color in an accurate and consistent manner,” said Jeffrey Katzenberg, chief executive officer and director, DreamWorks Animation. “Quite simply, when we make a movie about a big, green ogre, our concern is that our ogre is the same color of green throughout the film. HP has truly changed the game with its new display, giving DreamWorks Animation full visual fidelity across the board for the first time.”

Be it broadcasting, film/video post-production or animation, this new breakthrough display from HP DreamColor Technology will provide richer color and darker blacks ever experienced on a display. The display will come with the factory included presets for almost all color ranges specified by the SMPTE, NTSC, sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI standards and Rec. 709.
