Best Buy’s house brand, Insignia, has brought a lot of hardware over the years. Some of it has been better than others, and today we’re going to see the higher end of the scale, the Insignia NS-HTIB51A.

The Insignia NS-HTIB51A is a six hundred seventy watt 5.1 channel home theater system that offers several built-in surround sound decoders including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS-HD high resolution audio, an active subwoofer, three HDMI inputs, two component video inputs, one component video output, two optical digital inputs, one coaxial digital input, an HDMI output, Audyssey dynamic volume control to correct fluctuations in volume, and a direct audio mode to improve sound from analog material.

There’s not much to complain about with the Insignia NS-HTIB51A; the sound quality is actually pretty good, and it certainly does play almost as well with older components as it does with newer.  That in and of itself is a pretty big surprise. And just to really round things out, it’ll even offer a programmable remote.

Considering that Best Buy wants four hundred bucks for it, it may seem a little salty price-wise, but you’ll likely get plenty of value out of it.  The Insignia NS-HTIB51A is a solid system that will offer you plenty of great features and nice sound quality besides.
