Intel Solid-State Drives for Notebook and Desktop Computers

intlogo Intel Corporation recently announced the availability of SATA SSDs 1.8” X18-M and 2.5” X25-M especially for desktops and laptops. The High-Performance and lightweight drives are based on MLC NAND flash technology. The drives offer boot and resume times and fast system response over hard drives.

"Validated by our rigorous testing and OEM customer feedback, we believe that we have developed an SSD that delivers on the promises of SSD computing," said Randy Wilhelm, Intel vice president and general manager of the NAND Products Group.

The rugged and low-power storage solution drives are available in 80 GB and160GB capacities. The 80 GB drives offer 70MB per second write speeds and 250MB per second read speeds. The SSDs are quieter and cooler, thanks to no moving parts involved in it.

Maximized IOPS result in low enterprise cost and high performance. The drives offer outstanding reliability and flexibility in terms of performance. Both the drives with 80GB capacities are priced at $595.
