I have concerns at the moment as the web site is NOT yet launched and it’s LATE being launched. I am unable to even find out more about the player until site is launched. I hate to say it’s suspicious, but it feels that way. I have booked marked the site and will just watch and see what happens.

just plugged in and downloaded two cartoons to the player for free…
additional cartoons can be purchased requiring you to buy “coins” from the site at the cost of 50 coins for $10.00…each cartoon so far costs 10 coins so $2.00 for each cartoon…will post agian tomorrow after the player is fully charged and we view the quality of the cartoons

I have recently purchased and attempted to use the ipix play for kids. All aspects of it seem to not work at all. The application they force into your computer is unable to recognize the player, the coupons for more time are not accepted on the website. Many aspects of the website do not work, finding, viewing, purchasing and downloading the videos are all unusable. I purchased this from walmart and will be returning it immediately, if you have purchased one i suggest you do the same. This was clearly rushed to be out for christmas and we as consumers suffer for irwin toys and walmart trying to make a quick dollar.

I have all of the exact same complaints as Jeremy. Do not waste your time and money on this product. Useless support, no web-site up yet (over a month late now). No downloadable videos yet available, and you can not add your own videos. Absolutely horrible.

Hi There
My 5 year old son got one of these for his birthday this weekend. I am having issues with it constantly freezing and needing to be reset. However after he got bored of watching the 2 free shows he had on there I did figure out how to add our own movies. They need to be converted to a wmv file. Then you simply drag them over to the video folder on your ipix player and you’re all set. avs4you makes a great video conversion software…just make sure you dont convert it to hd.
Good luck!!

My grandchild also got one for Christmas. To upload your own video’s you need to convert them to wmv format. This can be done with numerous video converter programs. A good size for the video is 320×240. This file can then be copied into the video folder on the Ipix player just as you would copy files to a USB stick.

Hey Ray
I tried to convert them to a wmv format (320X240) but I still get the error 00002
How do you get it to work?
thanks

This “toy” is a complete joke and so is the company producing it. I tried calling their support phone number and they are still “closed for the holidays”, even though today is a normal business day. The sync tool doesn’t work (won’t sync up with my computer), you can’t get it to work by just loading normal .wmv files on it and it won’t load videos from the website onto the unit (nor does the website work properly even with the latest version of Internet Explorer). Basically it is useless and I will be attempting to return it to Walmart.
BUYER BEWARE!

In AVS4You I choose the “To WMV” and the profile “Video for Pocket PC’s/PDA” and then the only thing I change there is the frame size. Before you convert I also go to “EDIT” and play the video to obtain a snapshot which you save as a Jpg. This is also copied into the video folder and will be displayed in the IPIX selection list. (The video and JPG must be the same name). Hope this helps.

Hello all,
I purchesed the IPIX player and it simply will not synchronise. First off it tries to apply a firmware update and as any IT professional will tell you, if the firmware update is bad or does not work then kiss the device goodbye. I replaced the unit with another and used another computer for the syncronization with the same result. I also called support and they are closed. As an IT professional myself I am truly disterbed by this device and all buyers should beware.

avs4you converter worked fine. tks for the info Ray. Still having problems with the unit freezing. How do you reset it? Do you have to let the batteries run out first before you can turn it back on again?

I went to the ipix site and went to faqs. There the question was “what do you do if it freezes?”. The answer, (and it worked for ours), was….
under the stand in back, there’s a tiny little pinhole, that’s the reset button. You just have to find something that’ll fit in there and just like resetting a modem, it resets it. Works fine now
Now I’m going to check out that conversion tool because my daughter is dying to see spongebob in it, but, unfortunately, can’t get it from this ipix download site

We got one for our 22 month old son for xmas and thanks to this site, I used AVS4you last night converted some of my son’s fav shows and music videos. It works like a charm and he was really enjoying the ipix last night…only problem is, it tends to freeze (sigh) but if you hit the reset button at the back it goes back to normal. Since IPIX site has limited videos, it is best to use AVS4you.

Error Code: 0003.” I converted some videos to wmv like you guys said, but they dont want to get onto the player! can someone give me a step by step tutorial of how to make this thing work? Thanks.
