Kanguru Solutions recently unveiled its latest revolutionary Line of Power Saving External Hard Drives known as Kanguru Eco Drive. The company claims that the new drive is the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient external hard drive on the market. It is RoHS compliant. This innovative portable Kanguru Eco hard drive is equipped with power saving modes that automatically gauges hard drive usage to reduce power consumption by up to 75% thereby extending the life of the hard drive.

Software included in the package for Windows platforms (Windows 2000, XP and Vista only) configures three modes viz. Standby mode (drive operates at 10-20% of normal consumption after 3 minutes of inactivity), the Idle mode (drive operates at 80% of normal consumption after 3 seconds of inactivity), and Power Down (drive operates at 5-10% of normal consumption after 5 minutes of inactivity).
