LaCie Rolls Out Bus-Powered USB Speakers

LaCie has introduced its new Bus-powered USB speakers. The latest speakers are better match for desktop, as well as notebook PCs. The USB speakers are intended in portable designs and provide users with high-quality sound.

"The new USB Speakers provide universal flexibility to all USB-enabled computers without the need for additional power cables, electrical sockets, or batteries," said LaCie accessories product manager Alexis Kobassian, in a statement. "Also taking into account their rich sound and minimalist design, the USB Speakers can provide a new listening experience for those unable to enjoy LaCie’s FireWire Speakers."

The new USB speakers work with the PCs or Macs without any need of extra software. It comes with 2-inch Neodymium drivers including a frequency response of 90Hz to 20 KHz. It can be run at 1 watt per channel. Users can easily carry their portable and mini USB speakers. With the assistance of a power adapter, the USB speakers can also be utilized with many digital media players.

The LaCie portable USB speakers are shipping at a suggested price of $59.99.
