LG releases HDTVs for Hotel RoomsBy Paul Briggs - 06/18/2008 3:43:14 AM |
LG Electronics is exhibiting 11 high-definition TVs based on LodgeNet technology during 2008 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference. The new range of models include two 42” class plasmas, five 32”, two 37” and two 42” class LCDs.
“Our new programs with LodgeNet Interactive offer hotels cost-effective technology integration that facilitates rapid deployment of high-definition content on LG’s stunning flat panels,” said Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Commercial Products, LG Electronics USA, Inc.
Offering high-definition video-on-demand services and free-to-guest HDTV programming to the guests, the TVs are based on Pro:Idiom digital rights management system. Without the need of any additional software or hardware, the hoteliers can access uninterrupted digital content. While Plasma 42PG60C-LN1 and 42PG65C-LN1 offer an elegant look, the 42PG60C-LN1 boasts a contrast ratio of 30,000:1.
Channel mapping is done from head end equipment using these HD TVs, thus saving time and money. All the TVs based on MPEG-4 H.264 decoding technology, Dynamic Power Saving will be available in third quarter of 2008.
