LG.Philips recently announced an ultra-slim 42-inch TFT-LCD panel. This panel is considerably thinner than other conventional panels. It is just 19.8 mm slim. The company will exhibit this LCD panel at the FPD 2007 in Yokohama, Japan, from October 24 to 26. With sleekness 40 percent thinner and 10 percent lighter than conventional 42-inch LCD TV panels, the LCD TV uses a cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) backlight.
