MGM to offer full-length content through YouTubeBy Jeff Baker - 11/10/2008 12:37:47 PM |

It seems MGM is the first to move towards ad-based content as it was recently announced that they are to being offering full-length movies and TV shows on YouTube for, you guessed it, free. EngadgetHD has gotten word of content like American Gladiator episodes, along with movies such as Bulletproof Monk and The Magnificent Seven, but that is the only the beginning.
But how can they possibly do this? Well, Google being the advertising mammoth it is, will provide targeted ads that will run alongside the movie.
This could possibly be a revolutionary move by MGM because it virtually makes piracy unnecessary. Let’s wait to see how this unfolds, hopefully other major production studios will hop on the ad-based-viewing bandwagon. Dark Knight on YouTube anyone?
