The digital TV market is set to get another breakthrough as Microtune launches a new RF-to-baseband IC set to revolutionize TV receiver performance. The new chip enables TV manufacturers to make use of a smaller and cost-effective receiver which will allow them to build thinner and lighter digital TVs without sacrificing performance and quality for varying screen sizes. These new chips are small but are sufficient enough to deliver superb pictures on the largest widescreen TVs today, something that we have been experiencing lately. The MT3141 tuner is available now to early access customers and is priced at $2.00 in high volume
