Mirage MX 5.1

Mirage’s MX 5.1 home audio speakers dish up an immersive sound that won’t overwhelm your decor or everyday lifestyle. The system consists of five little speakers and a miniature subwoofer cube finished in high-gloss black that provides a sophisticated surround sound system. Each two-way MX speaker has a maximum power handling of 100 watts, permitting it to work with a wide variety of amplifiers. Inside each durable polycarbon housing, you’ll find a 0.63″ pure titanium hybrid tweeter for rich high frequencies and a 2.5″ aluminum woofer for solid, low distortion bass performance.

A compact 8″ cube constructed of rigid MDF, the MX system’s MM-6 subwoofer utilizes an 800-watt amplifier, dual 6.5″ black anodized aluminum passive radiators, and a 6.5″ black anodized aluminum cone woofer with an inverted Ribbed Elliptical Surround, delivering powerful bass response with low distortion. A low pass filter with bypass mode allows the subwoofer to mix perfectly with the other MX speakers, using the built-in crossover or a home theater receiver. Retails for $1200.

I have read some good reviews on these speakers. From what I understand, these work on using reflected sound rather than direct sound. I wonder whether their sound quality would be affected in a room with a lot of sound dampening?
