Similar to computers, power failures and fluctuations can be a problem as far as the improper shutdown of home theater components are concerned. The standard way of shutting electronic gadgets and appliances is still a must and home theater systems are no different.

Hence, like computers, backup power supply may be a good investment. UPS, long known for providing uninterruptible power supplies, has been introduced by Panamax to answer these power issues.

Obviously, a battery backup system will protect your vital components from improper shutdown during a power outage, particularly the lamps in rear-projection HDTVs. On top of its UPS system, the MB1000 also employs the Automatic Voltage Regulation system to safeguard your equipment during voltage sags.

An RS232 port is included to provide connection and communication between the UPS and home automation system. The MB1000 features eight battery-powered, surge protected and AVR outlets, four of which are critical-load outlets and four that are non-critical-load outlets.

Price: $729.95
