Philippe Starck Zikmu Parrot Speakers

Now here is a great looking speaker system for your digital devices at home. Made possible by Philippe Starck and Parrot, they call it the Zikmu and it features a pair of 2.5-foot black monstrosities that look like trumpet ends.

The system is shipped in a recyclable package designed to look like a musical instrument’s carrying case. The system can also stream music from any PC or Mac over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth A2DP wireless technology. It features a class-D amplifier rated at 100W RMS, and the speakers can output frequencies from 50Hz up to 20kHz.

The speakers retail for $1600 a set and can be pre-ordered now. They should start shipping later this month.
