Philips Unveils 2009 Home Theater Solutions Lineup
Philips launched an array of new home theater solutions today, ranging from Cinema TVs all the way down to iPod docking stations. With over 20 new products under its new lineup, what may be strikingly noticeable is the new 56” Philips Cinema 21:9 TV which costs $8,098.04. With a wider screen, the new LCD TV is designed to accommodate films in the 2.39:1 format and of course the much wanted cinematic experience right from home.
Other products that are sure to gain ground included the following:
- Philips’ new 52-inch 9000-series HDTV (52PFL9704) ($4,416.78)
- HTS8160B Soundbar
- 7000-series and 5000-series HDTVs
- DVD Micro Theater Systems
- iPod/iPhone docking stations
Most of these items are now available over at the Singapore market, with the exception of the three Philips 9000-series and the Cinema 21:9 HDTVs which are expected to ship in July.

With a 21:9 ratio won’t this TV look a little small at only 56″? This is one expensive TV that will mor or less look like two 30″ TV’s put side by side. Just get a projector and be done. Bigger is better!
