Pioneer ousts Samsung in plasma-patent case

It looks like the US judicial system takes no sides, recently forcing Samsung to pay Pioneer a sum of $59,351,480. But why would anyone be forced to pay such a ridiculous sum of money?

Well, Samsung recently lost against Pioneer in a patent battle with Pioneer claiming that Samsung willingly infringed on two of Pioneer’s plasma patents. They must have had a good case considering what they won from it.

There has been no word from Samsung but the question arises, will they cut their losses and pay the fee,or appeal it? Only time will tell.
