Price of Blu-ray Players will fall on Holiday SeasonBy Anthony B - 11/10/2008 5:53:23 PM |

According to a study made by ABI Research, the overall price of Blu-ray players will most probably drop on the holiday season – Christmas – and there are a few reasons for the fall:
- media speculation concerning the success of Blu-ray format
- competitors such as services that offer movies for download
- the need to sell more in a market that is currently in “depression”
At the moment there are Blu-ray players that cost less than $200, and as a prove there is Amazon and this Samsung BD-P1200. But during Christmas the price tag should be around $150, or less…
Blu-ray vendors and dealers are starting to realize that for Blu-ray to become the next DVD, they need to lower player prices in order to generate interest and build volumes.
