The bulk of the “effects” you get from your surround speakers are rather directional, so controlling in-built speakers to be sure they are pointing the right way is an important part of completing your home theater set-up. QPD Speakers is entering a fairly new area of the market with its range of motorized in-ceiling and in-wall speakers.
These devices use an adjustable design that provides for 25, 30, 35, 40 and 50 degree angles, allowing tweeters to blast directly towards the general listening area rather than straight across or down. Four models are offered. To give you an example of pricing, the QPD2006 is a 2-way speaker with a 6.5 inch woofer and a 1 inch dome tweeter. Pricing for the QPD Speakers model QPD2006 is AUD$549 each, while the remote controlled version (QPD2006R) is an extra AUD$150.
