Samsung and Reactrix working on Display That Tracks Your Movements

Samsung and Reactrix recently launched a 57” interactive display which goes beyond touch screen and can track your movements. Interact with the advertisement by moving your hands instead of watching a still image. Stand as far as up to 15 feet from the screen and wave your hands.

With the buzz surrounding the Wii, the iPhone, and Microsoft’s Surface, "people are more open and ready to interact using their hands and gestures," says Matt Bell, chief scientist and founder of Reactrix.

Play games, use maps or navigate menus and do whatever you want to with this amazing display. These displays are aimed at out-of-home advertising market which attracts people in shopping centers. An integrated stereoscopic camera with two lenses detects human body and computer vision algorithms sense the images. Though the company is still working on scenarios where people are holding hands or standing shoulder to shoulder.

Reduced price and small size is main criteria which make it stand out. Companies are still spell bound on price front.
