Samsung Displays E-paper Capable of Video ActionBy DaX - 06/09/2009 8:08:38 PM |

E-paper display are rapidly growing in popularity. Samsung is in fact working on an e-paper prototype capable of playing video. The machine will let you switch between e-paper and video mode in order to offer you the best viewing experience. How’s that possible? Well it sounds rather complicated. It seems that there’s an active matrix panel that uses a “cholesteric liquid crystal”.
The panel in the picture above measures 10.2-inch and it’s offering only 64 colors, a response time of 25ms, and 320 x 240 resolution. That’s about all the specs we have but we don’t really need them. We want to see this prototype evolve into something capable of offering a much better image quality.
