Samsung High-Performance SATA II SSDs

Samsung has come up with its new and high-performance SATA II SSDs (solid state drives), boasting of high-end and advanced features. It utilizes SATA II controller technology, which is already used on Samsung’s MLC-based 128GB SSDs.

The SATA II SSDs comes in size of 2.5 inches and is completely cost-effective. The small-bulk SSDs come with a choice of many densities including 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. The latest MLC-based SSD along with 32GB capability can examine the records at 90MB/s and also write it at 70MB/s.

“We’ve refined our manufacturing techniques and redesigned our low-density SSDs to get what the low-priced PC market is looking for in the way of improved cost, performance and availability,” said Jim Elliott, Vice President, Memory Marketing, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc.

Samsung’s 8GB SSD comes with four individual 16GB MLC NAND chips along with the four double-die kits and four quad-die packages for its latest 16GB and 32GB SSDs. With the assistance of a 32MB DRAM and four channel systems, the SSDs will prove better options to read data at higher speed. Samsung SATA II SSDs will be available at beginning of next month.
