Samsung Releases A New SyncMaster Monitor

Samsung is gearing up to expand its SyncMaster product line for monitors with the new LED backlit 90 series. Most specifically, the 24 inch FX2490HD is foremost among the upcoming models. This monitor comes with an integrated TV tuner and inputs such as 2x HDMI, D-Sub, and SCART for Europe. Meanwhile, the monitor itself features a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 5ms response, 1,000:1 contrast and 250 nits of brightness. Furthermore, Akihabara News notes that other features, which include PiP support, a jack for viewing media direct from USB sticks, and 7.1 channel Dolby Digital and DTS audio compatibility are also being offered. Thus, the Samsung FX2490HD should be available in the U.S. and Europe sometime this month for $540.
