Sharp recently rolled out AQUOS BD-HP50U and BD-HP21U Blu-Ray Players. The players support x.v.Color through the HDMI 1.3a connectors. Both the players set global standards in terms of audio and video quality.

“The interactive features of the Blu-ray Disc format bring a new level of enjoyment to the high-definition movie experience,” said Bruce Tripido, associate vice president, Entertainment Products Division, Sharp Electronics Corporation.

Both the DVD players offer DVD upscaling to 1080p and an output of 1080p/24Hz and supports DVD Video, DVD+RW/R, DVD-RW/R, BD-ROM/RE/R and Audio CDs. The support for BD Live Profile 1.1 and HDMI 1.3 sets them apart.

Decode Dolby Digital Plus audio codecs, DTS HD and Dolby TrueHD using the players. The integrated RS-232C port and IR port makes them more versatile. While the BD-HP21U is priced at $349.99, the AQUOS BD-HP50U is available for $449.99.
