Sharp Solar-Powered LCD

Sharp SolarPowered LCD

Sharp introduced its Solar-Powered LCD in a recent effort to bring itself in the forefront of solar innovation. Powered entirely by the sun, the new 26-inch LCD Aquos TV will work efficiently without using any electricity, sounds interesting isn’t?

Featuring a contrast ratio of 10000:1 and a 200mm thick display panel, Sharp’s Solar-powered LCD requires 30% less power than any other regular LCD TV. This newly launched LCD gets most of its power from one of Sharp’s triple-junction thin-film solar cell modules.

Sharp plans to display this new environment friendly and solar LCD at the G8 summit, 2008. This LCD will be marketed along with the energy system as a pair for all the environmental-friendly consumers.
