The Sony DAV IS10 is a spectacular home theater system that contains everything a new HT enthusiast needs to get started.  For right around $400 you get a DVD player (that also plays CDs and VCDs) , a Dolby Surround Sound audio system , five speakers that are small enough to fit in the palm of a hand (which makes arranging them in your Home Theater room much easier and less obtrusive), and a Digital Media port  that makes it possible to hook the DAV IS10 system up to an MP3 player or even to a cellphone.

The system is easy to set up; any ordinary person can do it in less than a few hours time. All in all, the ease of use, integrated video upscaling, automatic calibration, and decent performance and usability make the Sony DAV IS10 a great first Home Theater package.
