Sony DVP-FX930 Review–Movie Watching Fun On The Go

Sometimes, you just want to take a movie with you.  On the train, a long bus ride, in the back seat with your folks or whatever, waiting for jury duty–there are literally thousands of situations where a movie would be welcome.

Enter the Sony DVP-FX930, a portable DVD player that packs plenty of action into its presentation.

The DVP-FX930 comes with a 9″ widescreen display that both flips AND swivels, playback options for DVD, CD, MP3, and JPEG, a six hour maximum battery life, two separate headphone jacks and a car adapter with remote.

I have to admit, it’s not every day you see a nine-inch screen that makes you want to keep watching, but this little fella managed to be plenty of watching fun.  I loved how simple the controls were to operate, and how smoothly everything was laid out.  This may really be one of the better portable DVD systems I’ve seen in quite some time.

Sadly, this incredible quality is reflected in the price.  Sony’s got the price clear through the roof at a whopping hundred and ninety dollars, though prices will vary according to where you shop.  There’s still a lot to love, and if you’re willing to shell out a little extra for quality, then you’ve definitely got a piece to keep you happy right here.
