Sony recently introduced its new “Elevated Standard” ESline up of A/V Receivers. Active Intelligence three HDMI inputs (one output) support Deep Color, and x.v.Color. STR-DA5300ES is the first Sony receiver that has the capability to distribute high definition content to a second room (or zone). The STR-DA5300ES boasts of iPod Accessory Port for Easy Access to Digital Music and compatibility with the latest audio formats including Dolby Labs’ Dolby® Digital +/Dolby® TrueHD and dts® High Resolution Audio and dts® HD Master Audio. The receiver also has a 120-watt amplifier (8 ohms, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 0.09 percent THD) and accepts eight-channel linear PCM. Cortez Advanced controller featuring Faroudja® DCDi Cinema™ technology that upscales all video sources to 1080p via HDMI™. This 7.1 channel is a successor to last year’s award-winning STR-DA5200ES model. STR-DA5300ES will ship in September for about $1,700.
