Sony unveils the world’s first demodulator LSI for high-definition television use conforming to the “DVB-T2” (Digital Video Broadcasting –Terrestrial 2) terrestrial digital broadcast standard which is adopted in the UK. This new standard will improve the current terrestrial digital broadcast standard by increasing data transmission capacity and optimization of band frequencies for better quality of HD broadcasts.
First DVB-T2 standards were done on December, 2009. This LSI is to be used in UK models of Sony’s “BRAVIA” LCD TVs which are scheduled to be released in 2010.
