Gucci 3D Glasses

While the era of 3D glasses brings a new dimension to the world of enjoying a new age of displays to date, pick out the key word here in “glasses”. Now after that, associate it with the brands in the reading or even the sunglasses industry and you get a lot. Will they invade the market? Gucci will!

Word has it that Gucci will soon come out with designer 3D glasses in the market, possibly signaling a new trend towards separating 3D glasses from the standard ones for viewing pleasure. Now along with a marquee brand comes a price. Unfortunately that is something we don’t have right now. But soon, you may be hearing “What brand of 3D sunglasses are you using?” If so, that should separate you from the rest in terms of class! I wonder though if it will still be suitable for outdoor fashion. Nah I don’t think so!

Pepsi Foot Valley Commercial in 3D

Pepsi will put to good use the available technology for its advertising campaign prowess, making use of 3D technology for their latest commercial, “Pepsi Foot Valley” in 3D! This was all made possible through xyZ 3D displays, which will be rotating a large number of these ads in the Netherlands.

This 3D commercial will generate additional attention for the famous cola brand. Using the latest 3D technology, various objects literally jump out of the screen, towards the shopping audience. This remarkable effect is a first class attention driver, certainly because the 3D image is perfectly visible without the need for 3D-glasses.

This marks only one of many large scale companies expected to make use of 3D technology for business advertising and promotions. While Pepsi now counts among the many companies availing of such technology, expect the numbers to swell in the coming months for their advertising and promotional needs, 3D STYLE!

Dolby 3D Digital Cinema for Large Screen Capabilities Bared

The bigger the visuals the better and Dolby just made another breakthrough as far as adhering towards the growing needs of premium viewing pleasure for larger spaces like auditoriums. By implementing Dolby 3D for large screens, exhibitors can project Dolby 3D onto screens ranging from 41 to 70 feet. The new Dolby 3D large-screen solution is compatible with all of Barco’s digital cinema twin-projector offerings, including the ultra-bright DP-3000 flagship projectors.

“This is a milestone for Dolby 3D projection capabilities, as screen size has to date been limited to accommodate a range of up to 40–42 feet,” stated Page Haun, Senior Director, Cinema Marketing, Dolby Laboratories. “Dolby realizes that exhibitors need the flexibility to provide 3D in their largest and smallest auditoriums, and with this announcement, Dolby is now able to support exhibitors’ various needs.”

Malco Theatres, the first to test Dolby 3D for large screens, recently used the solution to screen Walt Disney Pictures’ Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience at its Malco Paradiso multiplex in Memphis, TN, and Malco Grandview in Madison, MS.

Dolby’s unique full-spectrum color-filter technology, enabled by the high-tech passive Dolby 3D Glasses, enhances the motion picture experience. The Dolby 3D system provides realistic color reproduction and extremely sharp images. The environmentally friendly and reusable glasses can be used repeatedly, significantly reducing the cost per viewing for exhibitors.
