Panasonic Set To Launch 3D Full HD Home Theater Solution

Guests checking out the 2009 NAB Show this coming Monday may want to check out the Panasonic booth. Panasonic has announced that it will showcase its cutting edge 3D Full HD Home Theater solution and the future of 3D Full HD technology at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The Panasonic 3D Full HD Theater, located at Booth C3327 in the Central Hall, will feature a breathtaking 3D Full HD demonstration which will run every 15 minutes during show hours. Panasonic first debuted 3D Full HD in January at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to very positive reviews. It quickly became among the most visited exhibits of CES 2009. The Panasonic 3D Full HD Theater at NAB will also include a look at the future of 3D Full HD technology on both the professional and consumer sides.

“Panasonic is very excited to bring its 3D Full HD Theater to NAB so the entertainment production community can experience for themselves the truly immersive experience that only 3D Full HD can bring to consumers,” said Dr. Paul Liao, Panasonic’s Chief Technology Officer. “We have a lot to share with the entertainment industry about Panasonic’s work in the development of 3D Full HD and our efforts to create a standard platform for this incredible technology. This display is something you won’t want to miss.”

Panasonic Unveils Portable Blu-ray Player

While Sony is occupied trying to saturate the market with its blu-ray technology, Panasonic is focusing on how to make compact players with LCD screens. These new mobile HD devices are bound to gain attention, perhaps taking off where a crop of portable DVD players with screens took the market by storm some years back.

Panasonic’s DMP-B15 has made its industry debut at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and offers on-the-go movie lovers access to solid mobile HD capabilities thanks to a tempting 8.9-inch LCD screen that delivers 1080p performance and a resolution of 1024×600.

Some notable features of this blu-ray player include:

  • Support for online Blu-ray expansion services via BD Live
  • Picture-in-picture access with BonusView
  • An SD memory card reader
  • Built-in HDMI port for interface with HD television sets
  • It also has limited Internet connectivity that allows access to popular video streaming sites like YouTube and Bloomberg News. There is word yet on how one player would cost but the DMP-815 model is expected to hit the market this coming May.
