Lenovo Unveiled Five new ThinkVision Eco-Friendly LCDs

Lenovo has five new ThinkVision LCDs for you to choose from. These are the 17-inch L1711p, the 19-inch L1951p Wide, the 22-inch L2250p Wide, the 22-inch L2251p Wide and the 22-inch L2251x Wide and they are all eco-friendly, energy efficient monitors.

The monitors are TCO Certified and EPEAT Gold rated and they will offer you 1,680 x 1,050 resolution, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time. DisplayPort connectivity and built-in webcam will also be available on selected models.

The ThinkVision L1951p Wide, the L2250p Wide and the L2251p Wide will be available starting October 23 for $239.99, $249.99 and $259.99, respectively. The L1711p will be available on November 6 for $229.99 while the L2251x Wide will be available for $299.99 later next month.

BenQ Has New Displays: G920WL and G922HDL

BenQ is back with more LED-backlit displays. This time we’re talking about the 19-inch G920WL and the 18.5-inch G922HDL. They are both LED backlit displays and in case you’ve just started to live more eco-friendly than before you should consider getting one of them. They only consume only 10 and 11 watts, respectively.

In terms of features you can expect 250 nits of brightness, 5ms response time, real, non-dynamic 1,000:1 contrast ratio and SensEye 3 auto-calibration utility. The new models will be available in Euripe and Asia soon but we don’t have pricing details for you just yet.

Neoluxiim Shows Everyone a Solar E-Ink Display


It was about time someone came up with such a concept! The display in the picture is powered by light and it’s not a simple panel, but an e-ink display. While the video above doesn’t really say much about Neoluxiim’s product, you have to admire the whole concept. It’s slim, it’s eco-friendly and it’s e-ink. What’s not to like? In fact it looks like it’s some kind of colored e-ink but we won’t make any assumptions. Instead we’ll be waiting for Neoluxiim to launch a product featuring this solar e-ink display.

Sharp to ship BD-HP22H Blu-ray player to the UK later this month

Sharp has recently announced that they will be launching their eco-friendly BD-HP22H in the UK later this month.

This £199.99 will feature BD-Live, 7.1 surround sound with DTS-HD Master Audio along with Dolby TrueHD and full 1080p support. The real selling point of this player however is the fact that it has the ability to consume just 0.7W while in standby and just 20W while in use.

Again, if you live in the UK you’ll be able to purchase Sharp’s BD-HP22H Blu-ray player for around £199.99 when it hits later this month.

NEC Announces MultiSync E222W LCD Monitor


NEC has decided to launch a new eco-friendly LCD monitor. The 22-inch E222W MultiSync LCD monitor promises to run on 50 percent less energy than the traditional LCD. The panel will also contain only half the total amount of mercury of your current LCD. Not impressed yet? Well how about a 1,680 x 1,050 resolution, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a 5-milisecond response time and DVI/VGA support. How much for the new monitor? Just $269 in July when it will be available.
