More Options Than Ever For Streaming Wireless Radio

We’ve talked about the Logitech Squeezeboom here before, and how it helps get music to the various points of your house, but what we haven’t talked about is how other devices can join the Squeezeboom to make music in all sorts of different ways with all sorts of different options.

Now, the Squeezeboom by itself works great for getting online wireless radio stations.  This by itself represents a pretty significant advance, but when you couple the Squeezeboom with, say, your iTunes library, again over the wireless wifi connection, you not only get access to the radio stations, but you also get access to your own downloaded library.

Then, in another couple weeks here, we’ve got the Sonos S5, which is both wireless radio and music player all in one that is controlled via your iPhone or by a Sonos controller.  This combination allows you to do in one unit what you had to do via jury-rigging in the above description.

So if you’re a music buff, then you have all sorts of options for making your home theater spark.

Logitech Multimedia Speakers with 360 Degree Sound

Logitech was never really known to provide quality audio from its speaker lines. They are known better for providing ideal interface device such as keyboards and mice. But now, it looks like Logitech is making another go at the audio aspect with the release of these 360 degree Sound multimedia speakers.

With speaker drivers that face forward and backwards in each satellite, Logitech’s new speakers are designed to transmit sound more consistently over a wider range of space so you never miss a beat no matter where you are in the room.

Here are the different speakers that are available from Logitech and their pricing:

First, the Logitech Z system provides a surround sound home theater experience without the need for rear speakers. Second, the system needs only a single USB connection to your computer to operate and plugs into any standard home electrical outlet. The system will function on Windows XP MCE, Vista Home Premium, or Vista Ultimate editions and the satellite speaker allows you to plug in earphones or an MP3 music player directly. TV remote causing family fights?

Logitech’s new Harmony universal remotes probably aren’t going to stop any fights, but according to their studies recently released to promote the product, they may actually be fight starters.

According to Logitech, 91% of families fight over the remote control for the television, and of that 91%, 72% of people have argued over the remote, 12% have thrown it, and 7% have gotten into a legit physical fight over it. Sounds crazy?

Well, also according to Logitech families will watch on average 3-hours of TV this upcoming Christmas so why don’t you observe your families behavior this holiday, maybe Logitech’s findings are more correct than they come off to be.
