Kohjinsha Dual-Screen Swivel Netbook

The netbook in the picture here is definitely something else. Made by Kohjinsha, this 10.1-inch netbook will always be ready to offer you an extra 10.1-inch display whenever you require more screen space. All you have to do is use the slide mechanism to bring up the other LCD and hide it away when you’re done using it. Both panels will offer you 1,024 x 600 or 1,366 x 768 resolutions.

Other specs include an AMD Athlon MV-40 processor, a 2.5-inch SATA HDD, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and Windows 7 Home Edition running in the background. As you can see, the Kohjinsha is definitely not your average netbook in terms of features. We have no idea when Kohjinsha will launch it as there might just be one important feature which, as you can see, is still unknown to us: the battery needed to power up those swiveling screens!

Pioneer launches ultra-slim portable DVD burner

Pioneer has today announced that they will be launching an ultra-lightweight, ultra-slim portable DVD burner for use with netbooks and notebooks.

As you can see from the above picture, it bares resemblance to a CD jewel case more than it does to a DVD burner but that’s the point; it’s ultra portable. Spec wise this thing will read/write DVD-Rs at 8x and CD-R/CD-RW at 24x.

This particular DVD burner will go on sale next month for a MSRP of $79.99. Now we’ll just have to wait a while longer before Pioneer releases a Blu-ray burner in this form factor.

Blockbuster to Sell Archos 10 Netbooks in Stores

Looking for a hot Blockbuster product? Well how about an Archos 10 netbook? It looks like Blockbuster is going to launch the 10-inch laptop and you’ll be able to get in Blockbuster stores. The netbook comes with regular features: Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD but lacks any optical drive and multimedia customization. So why is Blockbuster selling the netbook if the machine can’t help you enjoy more Blockbuster movies?

If you decide to purchase in a Blockbuster store then you’ll be able to get it for just $299 which is exactly the same price available in other stores too. So basically Blockbuster is selling a netbook for no apparent reason. It’s neither cheaper nor Blockbuster friendly.

Sanyo Unveils Four New Wireless Classroom Projectors

Sanyo officially unveiled four new ultra LCD projectors providing new and unique features to make business and educational presentations easy for both expert and novice users. The new projectors were:

  1. PLC-XU355
  2. PLC-XU350
  3. PLC-XU305
  4. PLC-XU300

“These highly versatile and portable projectors are the perfect solution for business and classroom presentations,” says Mark Holt, the Vice President and General Manager for SANYO’s Presentation Technologies Division. “The PLC-XU355/305 both offer the easiest and fastest setup for quick presentations with a PC or Netbook, with our new simple wireless setting.”

The PLC-XU355 and PLC-XU305 feature the industry’s first “Simple Wireless Setting” using USB memory. By inserting the supplied USB memory drive into any PC or MAC, only a single click (in most cases) is required to create a wireless connection to the projector. Instantly, the computer’s screen is being projected up to 98-feet away.

Either projector can be connected wirelessly to multiple computers or up to five projectors can be connected to a single computer. No special programs or drivers need to be installed on the computer because the projector’s USB terminal even allows the use of computers that do not have CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drives, such as the newly popular Netbooks.

Additionally, all four models are equipped with SANYO’s exclusive PJ Network Interface, allowing for integration into a wired network, which makes it possible for the projector’s functions and operation to be monitored from a long distance or within a web browser. Emails can even be sent automatically to report current operating status.
