Vizio Adds Small LED Backlit LCD TVs

If you’re looking for a smaller TV for, say, a bedroom or the basement or something similar, you may want to consider part of the new Vizio lineup of televisions, a nineteen inch and a twenty three inch television that both have a profile thickness of just under an inch.

Now here’s the interesting part–these two actually use LEDs as backlight for the front panel.  While only the  twenty three incher is 1080p, both feature 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratios, 5ms response times and 300 nits of brightness.  And both of them also offer two HDMI inputs, a PC input, SRS TruVolume so that when you go from the nature show to the used car ad you’re not blasted out of the room, and SRS TruSurround HD.

The phrase “tiny but mighty” comes to mind here, even if the prices of three hundred fifty and four hundred dollars respectively is a bit salty for such small units from Vizio.

Hisense Flat Panel HDTV Models To Be Equipped with SRS TruSurround XT

Hisense Electric Company has announced that they will be releasing 40 new TV models during 2009 featuring SRS TruSurround XT, which produces a thrilling surround sound experience over two built-in stereo speakers.

SRS’ patented, feature rich TruSurround XT solution processes multichannel content to create a compelling surround sound experience over a television’s two built-in stereo speakers. As a result, users will sense that “phantom” speakers extend all around them to produce an amazing surround sound effect, complete with deep bass — all without the clutter of extra wires or speakers placed around the room. When receiving mono or stereo content, SRS TruSurround XT creates an immersive 3D wall of sound that moves well past the physical width of the TV. Dialog quality is also improved as this technology lifts the spoken word above the chaos of sound effects and background music so that it’s clear and distinct.

The SRS-equipped Hisense flat panel HDTV’s include the TLM series, TPW HD Plasma series and HDP HD series. Reaffirming SRS’ position as the de facto standard for FPTV audio each series is available now at retail locations throughout China with screen sizes ranging from 32-inches to 50-inches.

SRS Labs is running a sweepstakes to give away three HDTVs featuring the SRS TruSurround XT suite. The sweepstakes will take place March 23 - April 20, 2009.
