New WiFi Standard Coming in 2010; WiFi Direct Uses no Routers

After we’ve seen the 802.11n standard finally getting official certification we now know that there’s a new WiFi standard coming our way. WiFi Direct will let you connect any two WiFi gadgets without the need of a router to handle the connection and the WiFi Alliance will probably unveil this new standard by mid 2010. That means you’ll be able to wirelessly connect to any computers, cameras, TVs and printers as long as they are in range.

Wait a minute, we have something like that and we like to call it Bluetooth! Well I guess we can forget all about Bluetooth as the new technology will only require a software patch installed for the wireless devices to work properly. What do you think folks?
