TiVo Wants a Billion Dollars from EchoStar

TiVo has upped the ante in its trial against EchoStar. After already receiving two favorable decisions which brought then $280 million from EchoStar, TiVo is asking now for a billion dollars. It looks like EchoStar did not disable about 200,000 DVRs as an earlier permanent injunction ordered and TiVo is not happy with that. EchoStar says it hasn’t started disabling those DVR as an appeal against that injunction is under way. Will TiVo get a billion dollars from EchoStar? We doubt it, but it will surely walk away with a nice settlement. Any bets on the final settlement number?
